Importing the Data File
If a client is set to use a time sheet import on the Client Details Time Sheet tab, use Time Sheet Import to import the data file.
To import the data file, do the following:
1. | In the Time Sheet Entry form, click Time Sheet Import ![]() |
2. | Select the Payroll Number. The Pay Groups information displays. |
3. | If there is more than one time sheet import definition for the client, select the one you want to use from the Import Definition ID drop-down. |
4. | Enable the Use Import for Hours Worked and Employee Default Hours for Hours Paid field to populate the employee’s default hours (not standard hours) on the timesheet. |
Note: This field only displays if you enable the TS-LOAD.HRS.WORKED (Global) or TS-LOAD.HRS.WORKED-C (Client) custom feature code on the System Parameters form.
5. | Click Start Import. The Upload File window opens. |
6. | Click Choose File. Navigate to the location of the file, select it, and then click Open. |
7. | Click Submit. When the file upload completes, a confirmation message appears. |
8. | Click Close. You return to the Time Sheet Import form. |
9. | If there were any errors, they display in the Error Report. For example, if an employee has hours allocated to a charge date that occurs prior to the employee's hire date, a warning message displays. |
10. | Click Review to look at the imported data. If there is more than one page, use the Previous Page and Next Page buttons to navigate the imported time sheet data. |
11. | If the data is accurate, click Post Data to Time Sheets. The system processes the data and creates the time sheets. |
12. | Click OK in the confirmation message. |
13. | If there were any errors, they display in the Error Report, which you can print. |
14. | Click Edit Time Sheets. You return to the Time Sheet Entry form, where you can proceed to the next step of the process. |
