Defining W/C Classifications

Use the W/C Classifications form to define the workers’ compensation class information for a state.

Note: Click the Import icon () to import W/C codes and descriptions by state or to import multiple rate templates and effective dates all at once. (See the Payroll Administration Guide for more information about using the Global W/C Classifications Import Template option to perform this import.)

To define workers’ compensation class information for a state, do the following:

1.

Enter the two-character State code where this workers’ compensation classification applies.

2.

Enter the workers’ compensation Class Code used by the state for this classification. To enter a sub-class code, precede it with a period.

3.

Enter a Class Description for this classification.

4.

Select Ohio Construction Class if the classification pertains to a construction trade class in Ohio. The system uses this in the Ohio Weekly Construction Cap calculation.

5.

Click Save.
