Changing Passwords
Change a user password on the Change Password form.
To change your password or that of another user:
1. | Verify the Username is correct and you are on the correct user's page. |
2. | Change your own password by entering your Current Password. |
Note: If you are resetting an employee’s password, you don't need to enter their current password.
3. | Enter a New Password. The system validates the password. If validation fails, PrismHR provides information on creating a valid password. |
4. | Re-enter the password in the Confirm New Password field. The next time the user logs on, use the new password. |
Note: The read-only Requires New Password field, which is enabled by default and cannot be disabled for security purposes, prompts employees to create a new password the next time they log into the system.
5. | Click Save. The next time the user logs on, use the new password. |
Note: If you are resetting an employee’s password, this resets the lockout period, if any, in cases where the password is being changed because the employee was locked out of EP after too many failed login attempts.
