Activating Pending Enrollments

After you define participation requirements and medical waiver reasons, employees can submit their enrollments, which are assigned to the posting queue as pending. The Participation Requirement Maintenance form enables you to activate pending enrollments.

To activate pending enrollments:

1. In the Back Office menu, go to Operations|ActionParticipation Requirement Maintenance.
2. In the Participation Requirement Maintenance panel, complete the following fields:
Field Action

Benefit Plan ID

Enter a plan ID or click the link to select from a list.

Participation Requirement Criteria

To view posted enrollments with the start date and percentage entered at the system level on the Group Benefit Plans form, select System check.
To view posted enrollments with client overrides entered at the client level on the Benefit Plan Setup form, select a Client ID check. The Client ID field is disabled.

Client ID

To filter between clients with system-level participation requirements, select a client from the Client ID list.

3. Click Search. The Search Results panel displays posted enrollments with effective dates on or before the Participation Requirement Start Date.

The table includes:

Field Description
Client The client ID number and name.
Employee The employee name and ID number.
Plan ID The plan ID.
Effective Date The plan's effective date.
Status
Pending
Active
Waived
Terminated
Eligible

In the Participation Requirement Maintenance panel, information displays for posted enrollments. Enrollments currently in progress do not display.

Field Description

Participation Requirement Needed

The total Participation Requirement percentage.

Estimated Participation Achieved

Percentage = (Pending Employee count + Active Employee count) / (Total Employee count - Waived Employee count)

Pending Employee count

The number of employees with a Pending enrollment status.

Active Employee count

The number of employees with an Active enrollment status.

Waived Employee count

The number of employees with a Waived enrollment status.

Terminated Employee count

The number of employees with a Terminated enrollment status.

Eligible Employee count

The number of employees with an eligible benefit enrollment for this plan. Note that when adding the benefit plan after entering the employee into the system, the employee is eligible, but an eligible benefit enrollment does not exist.

Total Employee count

Total of all employee counts.

4. To activate enrollments displayed in the table, click Activate Pending Plans. A dialog displays confirming you want to change the pending enrollments to an active status.
5. To continue, click Yes. Or, click No to return to the Participation Requirement Maintenance form.
